Diocletian's palace - old Roman palace built by emperor Diocletian at the beginning of 4th century that once served as his retirement place, as well as a refugee for inhabitants of ancient Roman city Salona. It is the pearl of Split, where people have been living since it was built, consisting of numerous shops, restaurants, hotels etc. still within its walls. The most interesting parts of the Palace are the Perystile (central open-air area) and Diocletian's cellars (once food and wine storage place, today serve as a venue for multiple events and exhibitions.
Bačvice beach – most popular sandy beach in Split, located 5 min from the city center is sort of a symbol of the city. Featuring several restaurants, cocktail bars and night clubs, Bačvice beach is definitely the place to be at during the day and night.
